Tomorrow we will ride. Yes i know it's cold but it is above 20 degrees so i think we will try to ride. Since the first class had their class on Thursday, they won't have their class but if they are assigned to a person in the lead line class then we would appreciate it if you could come to that class. Everything else is the same.
See you tomorrow!! :)
We all love to come and enjoy the horses but we do need to remember that they, as we, have minds of their own. When you bring your child for lessons, come on in an “sit a spell”, its fun to watch the kids as their confidence grows while riding these beautiful animals.

Snowy Day
Even though it was snowy and cold many of us braved the weather to ride on Saturday. We got to meet Haylee for the first time. She did a wonderful job teaching the beginner class. Big thanks to all the helpers, including a new helper from Carroll, Anna, who you may see in the future. We miss those of you who didn't make it out. Hope you can get there next week.

Comments, anyone...
It was nice to see so many of you back this last Saturday. I think over all it was a nice first day for our new instructors. Thanks to Kirstin and Katy for their great lessons. And a big Thanks to all the parents, siblings and friends who came out to help. It was great to see Kim back. What a great right hand woman you are. Thanks for all the jobs you did for me while I was running around. You are great! And all you students, thank you for helping each other so much. It makes Horse Share go a lot smoother.
Remember, all of you are invited to comment on this blog. This is for you, and we would love to hear from you. If anyone has any impressions of their Horse Share experience that they would like to share, I would love to have you post them. Hope to start hearing from the Horse Share members on this blog soon. It is boring to read my own posts. I want to read someone else's for once.

New Instructors
This Saturday our new Carroll College student instructors will be starting to teach the Horse Share classes. They are very excited to get started and meet all of our Horse Share Family. It will make their first day go a lot smoother if everyone can be on time and ready to go when your class is to start. (The class schedule is posted on the side of the blog.) Also remember if you are a helper for the Pee Wee class to be there in time to get horses ready and help your Pee Wee get ready to ride. It should be warm (30's) on Saturday. Still remember you gloves, hats, coats and maybe long johns and be ready to have fun. It will be nice to get going again.

Helper for the Pee Wee Class
Remember that we are planning on many of you older girls to be helpers in the Pee Wee class. This means that you need to be at the arena by 1:30 to help ready horses and be waiting for your little one to show up and help them with their helmets and get ready to ride. We will be giving more specific instruction as we go along. If any of you have questions about being a helper or can not be a helper, please let us know. If you are a helper, your name will be listed at the end of the row in the Pee Wee schedule. Being a helper is a very important piece to making it possible for these younger kids to ride. We truly appreciate your help!

Work Day
Thanks to all the girls and their dads who were able to come on Saturday for the work day. Susan said you got a lot done, and she was very grateful for all your hard work. Those of you who couldn't make it, you were missed. Please try and make our next work day. Remember it is part of your contract to do work days in exchange for the opportunity to ride. Many hands make light work. Plus, it is a lot of fun to work with your friends.

The Ranch and On To the New Year
For all of those who didn't make it to the L&H Ranch with us Saturday, I hate to say it, but you missed a good time. The girls got a huge kick out of the hay ride, including jumping of and racing to catch up with the wagon. We were fed well, like last time, and had a nice visit with the Hanson's. They had a beautiful display of Christmas houses all lit up in their dining room and a set of music boxes in the family room that were real neat to see. (Maguire and Mason really like them.) The girls even got to go see some brand new baby goats that were born just hours before they went out. (I took some pictures, but have been sick for the last few days, so I will have to add them later.) Kate is talking about us coming to visit again in the spring when all of their goats have had their babies, so keep that in mind if you would like to see a LOT of baby goats.
I am sad that with the weather and some schedule conflicts we haven't ridden in a while. Don't give up on us. We will be starting up again real soon. Remember that there will not be any riding on Saturday, but there will be a work day. So everyone plan on coming to the barn at 12:00 pm ready to do some cleaning. Susan will be there to let you know what needs to be done. If we have any muscle coming, we still have two very large posts in the arena that need to be pulled out. I think a good truck maybe in order here, although some digging may also help. For more details please contact Susan.
If all goes will are new Carroll College student instructors will be with us starting the 16th. I look forward to you all meeting each other. I think you will really like them, and they will bring a lot of fun to the group. Until then, take care.
